Description

Based on NXP’s family of SMPS controller ICs, the system uses robust components and proven technologies to simplify LED application design.

Central to the dimmable reference design is the SSL2101 / 2102 – mains LED driver ICs for dimmable LED lighting and part of NXP’s GreenChip portfolio. It guarantees energy efficiency through valley switching, an adaptive switching frequency and low-resistance internal transistors. Such high efficiency allows lower-specification passive components and smaller heat sinks to be used, translating into lower system costs. Non-dimmable solutions can also be created using the SSL1523.

The design is just one example of how to use our range of high-performance SSL solutions for mobile flash, consumer electronics, automotive lighting and general lighting markets. Our solutions help you deliver lighting products with lower energy consumption, longer lifetimes, smaller form factors, increased robustness and improved intelligence. And they integrate easily into products – so designers don't need to have extensive electronics skills. This 'hassle-free' integration cuts time-to-market.
