Background information

The STB200 DVB-S is a complete hardware and software solution for set-top box (STB) manufacturers targeting high-growth digital satellite TV markets in Europe and Asia. Offered as a turnkey solution, it frees up customers' resources to focus on product differentiation and offers the shortest, most cost-effective route from initial discussion to mass production.

Part of a complete development roadmap, the reference design is an ideal starting-point for introducing consumers to digital TV reception (both Free-to-Air and PayTV). Highly software programmable and hardware customizable, it eliminates the need for continual system re-design and offers the flexibility to create products tailored to specific requirements, including multi-market products such as combined DVD+RW / DVB systems.

The STB200 is based on the PNX8316 MPEG-2 source decoder, the highly integrated TDA8262HN multi-standard satellite silicon tuner and the TDA10086HT DVB-S channel decoder. The comprehensive package also includes validation board, software (drivers and adaptation layer) and third-party software stacks including a GUI application and UI customization software.
