Background information
The TV506E provides world-class picture quality at a competitive price and enables a short time to market. It is available as a production ready reference design which includes a software development kit for easy customization and configuration. A Windows-based UI tool is also available to create on-screen graphics.
At the heart of the solution are two ICs – the TDA151xx and the PNX50xx. A member of the Ultimate One Chip (UOC) Fifth-Generation analog TV family, the TDA151xx handles the IF, video and audio decoding, 3D comb filtering, detail adaptive noise reduction and overall TV control. The PNX50xx is a high-performance scaler, responsible for de-interlacing, scaling, picture quality improvement and On-Screen Display (OSD). It’s the first scaler with integrated movie judder cancellation and offers a number of advanced features such as auto picture control, auto contrast control, motion compensated de-interlacing (MCDI) and flash card connectivity.
