Background information

Combining market-proven IP blocks and the latest picture enhancement features, the TV506T is built around NXP’s TDA8890/91 and TDA154xx/TDA153xx ICs.

The dedicated front-end IF processor TDA8890/91 provides all analog A/V input / output switching including interfacing to a digital sound and video / scaling processor. It features multi-standard vision PLL-IF circuit for negative or positive modulated signals, AM demodulator without extra reference circuit, and separate SIF (Sound IF) input for single reference QSS demodulation. The TDA8891 also supports a multi-standard color decoder which can be used for PIP/POP/DW.

The back-end processor TDA154xx/TDA153xx provides a host of on-chip functions, including a wide range of picture improvement features such as 3D MADI, 2:2/3:2 film mode detection, video on graphic PIP/POP/DW, favorite color management controls, sRGB color management and a bitmap- and font-based OSD engine. Input resolutions up to 1080P (YPbPr and HDMI) and full HD LCD panel output resolutions are supported.

To simplify chassis development and enable extensive product differentiation, these complete system solutions also include our Global TV (GTV) software. Extensive device driver libraries and demonstration applications complete the package – all backed by comprehensive technical support, training, tools and documentation.
