Background information

Simplifying design and significantly reducing time-to-market, the TV505D reference design is ideal for mainstream LCD TV manufacturers wanting to enter the DVB-T DTV market. The solution combines digital reception with high picture quality for 50-60 Hz LCD TVs, typically with screen sizes up to 20 inches.

Enabling you to build affordable LCD TVs which benefit from the latest digital broadcast services, the TV505D is based on the LCD TV One Chip TDA15500 and the DE200/50 digital adapter module. The highly integrated TDA15500 includes all the video and audio processing, control, microcontroller and LCD scaler functions typically found in a mainstream analog LCD TV.

The digital adapter DE200/50 is linked to the main signal board via the IBOLink interface, with software offering standard or customizable protocols that can be incorporated easily into any existing TV software stack. It provides all the MPEG-2 digital video decoding needed for DVB-T reception.
