Rotational speed sensors Sensor portfolio

Simple, compact, cost-effective and easy to design in

Compact and easy to design in, NXP's magnetoresistive rotational speed sensors provide a simple and cost-effective rotational sensing solution. They are ready-to-use and include the sensor, an advanced signal conditioning IC and a back-biasing magnet, using a special multi-chip package.

Serving rotational speed sensor applications for nearly 10 years, the well-tried and trusted KMI1xx technology provides robustness against large magnetic fields and high temperatures, and is very stable over temperature and life time. They also provide high accuracy due to excellent jitter performance and are able to operate over a wide air gap.

A choice of 3 different back-biasing magnets covers sensing of active or passive targets. Devices in the KMI15 family have a current output using two-wire technology, while those in the KMI16 and KMI18 families feature an open collector output, with three-wire technology.
