Enabling New Gaming Experiences
Integration of contactless technology enables the cross-platform experience in gaming, removing the technology compatibility barriers between different platforms and merging the physical and virtual world by placing the virtual character into the player’s hands.
On-Card Gesture Recognition
When shopping online a card is presented as an alternative to entering personal data, including card number and security codes. Instead, the secure password is actually scribed with a person’s finger on the card, and this function can be turned on and off. We will also show how the card is trained to recognize different people’s individual writing style.
Smart Meter Monitoring Through NFC
A smart meter of a leading metering company contains a contactless IC; and a small home appliance is connected to the meter. With a Nexus-S Smartphones end-users can easily read out/visualize the current energy consumption.
From a security standpoint, the demo will show how the embedded secure element in NFC handsets can be used to manage the privacy of individual households, while providing the appropriate level of access for installation and service technicians. In addition, authorized maintenance technicians can download metering information to handsets or tablets, or upload firmware if required to the meter via NFC.
Secure Governmental eID for Use Anywhere
NXP will demonstrate a secure internet transaction and eGov 95134service from home (signing of tax statement).
At Work
Multi-Applications Corporate Identity
NXP’s at work demo area showcases different enterprise applications: One card will be used to get physical access to the office and logical access to a computer. The same card will showcase micro payment at the coffee vending machine in the office, demonstrating multi-applications with state-of-the-art security.
Additionally, we will show the use of mobile devices for physical access.
In Transit
Electronic Passport Control – Fast and Secure
Visitors at the NXP booth can witness a world record: NXP will demonstrate a world record in ePP transaction time with SmartMX2 and ePP SAC with CryptoVision card. A display will be designed to associate with crossing between countries.
Travel the World with any MIFARE™ Equipped Device
NXP will show miniature train layout with stops representing some of NXP’s key AFC installations. Each stop also represents one AFC product family (MIFARE Classic, Plus, DESFire, Ultralight & SmartMX). By presenting a transport card the train stops at the respective city and a screen shows product messaging.
The model also works with contactless banking cards and mobile ticketing, thus exhibiting a variety of payment methods. A dedicated Android demo app demonstrates ticket selection, over the air provisioning and location based travel information.
At Leisure
Superior Shopping Experiences through Multi-Applications
NXP’s demo includes an interactive payment terminal using NFC peer-to-peer technology to push the payment receipt, the invoice ticket and the business card, or collect and redeem coupons of the retailer on an NFC equipped Android phone. This demo will also be equipped to display the world’s record speed for an M-chip device to show contactless payment with a card as well.
Smart NFC Tags for Value Added Consumer Experiences
NXP shows a wall-mounted frame containing various SmartTags to obtain a variety of information, coupons, etc., simply by tapping an NFC-enabled smartphone to the tags integrated in the wall.
Riding Multi-Applications into the Future!
Probably one of the highlights of CarteS 2011: NXP showcases an electric motor bike that is fully equipped with the latest RFID, NFC and secure technology from NXP that can be used for road pricing, vehicle registration and secure payments. In addition, an NFC enabled smartphone features demonstrates additional functionality such as automatically storing the bike’s location or locking and unlocking the eBike.
