NXP microcontrollers – affordable innovation

ESC San Jose 2008

At the recent Embedded Systems Conference in Silicon Valley, we previewed the vibrant future of 32-bit ARM microcontrollers, showcasing the LPC3000 series, our most advanced ARM0 microcontrollers yet.

Designed in a 90-nm process, the new LPC3000 series combines the performance of an ARM926EJ core, a Vector Floating Point (VFP), an LCD Controller, an Ethernet MAC, an OTG USB, an efficient bus matrix, and a large set of standard peripherals. The result is a series of solutions that give embedded designers the ability to reduce on-chip components and maximize power savings -- without sacrificing performance.

Peripheral support includes interfaces for I²C-bus, I²S, SPI, SSP, UARTs, SD, PWMs, and A/D. The series also supports DDR, SDR, SRAM, and Flash memory devices, and provides the option of booting-up from NAND Flash, SPI memory, UART, or SRAM. The LPC3250, our most highly integrated device in the series, adds a 10/100 Ethernet MAC and a 24-bit LCD controller that supports STN and TFT panels.

Along with the LPC3000 series, we also showcased the LPC2000 series of ARM7 microcontrollers, and our ARM-based LH7xxxx (BlueStreak) microcontrollers, which offer high-resolution integrated LCD controllers.
