On March 12 2009, NXP Semiconductors received a "Green Light -2009" award for its MIFARE Ultralight C - new generation of ICs for smart tickets, that was recognized a winner in the contest of advanced designs in the area of city public transport and was recommended for wide use in AFC applications for city public transport Russia-wide.

The award has been issued by the association of governmental and public transport organizations and operators driving developments in public transportation in Russia, including State Duma of Russian Federation, Ministry of Transport of Russian Federation, International association "Metro", Department of Transport and communication of Moscow, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mosgortrans, and a number of other state and city industrial and public organizations.

The award was presented to NXP at the First Russian Specialized Tradeshow of Products, Technologies and Services for city public transport operators "Public Transport-2009" which recently took place in Moscow on March 11-13, 2009.
