Passing a major milestone in our growth as a leader in wireless semiconductors for next-generation mobile handsets, we recently shipped our 500 millionth Aero RF CMOS transceiver.
The shipment comes only seven months after acquiring the cellular operations of RF CMOS-leader Silicon Laboratories, and marks our ability to integrate new technologies and achieve scale rapidly.
Of the 500 million transceivers, more than 100 million were shipped in the past seven months alone.
Our success lies in taking a two-pronged approach to market, offering standalone transceivers and also integrating them into our industry-leading Nexperia cellular system solutions.
Adding the new transceivers to our cellular platforms gives our customers a distinct advantage, with best-in-class performance, power, and cost targets.
Since completion of the Silicon Laboratories acquisition in April 2007, we have designed the Aero family RF technology into more than 80 percent of our GSM/GPRS/EDGE cellular platforms, and plan to raise that number to 90% by early 2008.
