“This is an exciting time for us now that we're 'going it alone' as NXP Semiconductors. It's a bold move, because we're taking a risk. We want to make a strong position for ourselves, so everyone is behind this. We're taking responsibility for our own future. We're in an exciting industry. Our competencies and roles have changed enormously over the last decade it's very dynamic. You don't see the same kind of growth in other semiconductor companies. I think we can make a difference, and take NXP to the Top 5. We have the technology and systems to do it.
There's a sense of competition, because everyone really wants to win. The people here are very high caliber, because of their breadth of experience. I work with my team in an international environment, with responsibility for global activities and markets in multiple locations. I get satisfaction from achieving results, together with inspiring peers and multi-cultural colleagues.
I like the broad range of opportunities available to me at NXP. I began my career in technology, then moved to the commercial side, then spent some time in the US before coming back to Europe as Program Manager and then general management. So although I have been 17 years with one company, I've experienced a wide range of challenges and roles. My personal growth program is on-going I'm currently looking at developing my coaching skills.
There's a different mindset at NXP. We think about what benefits the consumer will get, rather than just selling components without knowing where they will be used. There's much more understanding of the dynamics of the whole market and the relevance of market trends.”
