reenter your passwordMCX A series MCUs, powered by the Arm® Cortex®-M33, are general-purpose MCUs designed to address a wide range of applications with scalable device options, low power and intelligent peripherals. The innovative power architecture is designed to support high utilization of I/Os and power efficiency with a simple supply circuit in a smaller footprint. Designed to support more GPIO pins for additional external connections, the MCX A allows designers to utilize a smaller package, simpler board design and lower system BOM costs. The MCX A Series is supported by the MCUXpresso Developer Experience.
The MCX A series is highly scalable, offering a balance between cost, performance and power consumption.
Autonomous peripherals take the load off the core for power-saving and power modes to keep the intelligent peripherals running while the core is in sleep.
MCUXpresso IDEs, SDK, secure provisioning and configuration tools help speed-up development time with high-quality software and tools.

MCX A’s autonomous peripherals with DMA and trigger matrices offload timers, ADC conversions and serial bursts, letting the core sleep longer and wake predictably. Across MCX A13x/A14x/A15x to A25x/A26x you get deterministic timing and lower jitter for closed-loop control and sensor fusion. MCUXpresso examples speed up bring-up and verification.
MCX A series includes A1 (Essential), A2 (Enhanced) and A3 (Mixed Signal) with pin-compatible packages and a simple power tree. Scale from 48–96 MHz (A13x/A14x/A15x) to 180–240 MHz (A25x/A26x) or to A34x mixed signal while reusing the board, IO map and SDK drivers to reduce respins and DVT time.
MCX A34x combines multi-ADC sampling phase-aligned to PWM edges with on-chip op amps and comparators integrated into FlexPWM. This enables faster current and voltage acquisition, lower group delay and cleaner layouts, often eliminating external amps and ADCs. With FreeMASTER and MCUXpresso examples, FOC and digital power tuning and protection bring-up accelerate.
MCX A 1/2/3 families share peripheral IP, pinouts and package options to enable firmware and board reuse. This reduces NRE, shortens DVT and supports long-life product roadmaps under NXP’s longevity program.
MCUXpresso IDE and SDK unify drivers, RTOS projects and configuration tools for pins, clocks and peripherals. Reference designs and FRDM boards deliver ready-to-run I3C, USB, CAN FD, segment LCD and motor control demos. FreeMASTER enables real-time tuning and telemetry so you can verify latency, throughput, CPU load and current draw on day one.
