Underscoring our market leadership in car entertainment, we recently shipped our 50 millionth car radio / audio DSP, the SAF7730. With the SAF7730, a member of the Dirana family, we are a key supplier to the large majority of car radio set makers and car manufacturers worldwide.

The SAF7730 is a dual IF car radio / audio DSP that offers excellent radio and audio quality by using multiple integrated cores and leading software features such as phase diversity. Its software-defined architecture enables customers to differentiate their products while reducing development costs and shortening time-to-market. By launching new software releases on a regular basis, NXP continues to update the SAF 7730 with new and improved features and functions. The SAF7730 is sold as a chipset solution with up to two tuner front-end ICs (the TEF6721 and the TEF6730).

The recently introduced SAF7741 follows on the success of the SAF7730. The SAF7741, which combines with the tuner front-end IC TEF7000, delivers a low-IF architecture to the high-performance car OEM market. It raises the performance bar for modern car radios while slashing the costs for external components count and reducing board space by almost 50%.

NXP also offers the SAF7746, a dedicated, single-tuner version of the Dirana family.
