Extending NXP's leadership in automotive reception systems, which play a key role in car infotainment applications, NXP has joined the Genivi Alliance, a non-profit industry alliance committed to driving the broad adoption of an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform.
As an alliance member, NXP will contribute to the Genivi platform creation. Working closely with customers and partners, NXP will ensure that its best-in-class car infotainment technology integrates into the Genivi platform, and that designers can easily incorporate NXP's solutions into their products. Through this effort, NXP will help reduce development time for car infotainment systems, and will help designers focus on creating features that truly differentiate their products.
As car infotainment systems grow in complexity, manufacturers are turning to third-party software solutions to simplify development and speed time-to-market. The Genivi platform, which is scalable across product lines and generations, establishes a foundation upon which automotive manufacturers and their suppliers can add their own products and services. The result is shortened development cycles, quicker time-to-market, and reduced costs for companies developing IVI equipment and software.
