NXP Awarded LIGHTFAIR International’s 2010 Technical Innovation Award

NXP Semiconductors announced it is the recipient of LIGHTFAIR International‘s (LFI) 2010 Technical Innovation Award for its SSL2102 dimmable IC. Awarded for having the industry‘s most forward-thinking advancement in lighting technology, NXP is one of four companies recognized by LFI as a leaders in innovative lighting product design and technology. LFI announced all winners via press release. Each year the LFI Innovation Awards showcase the latest lighting-related products and designs that demonstrate the best in innovative design and thinking. NXP was selected among the nearly 200 submitted products introduced over the past 12 months or launched at LFI2010. The SSL2102 is a Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) controller IC designed to drive LED devices. It operates in combination with a phase cut dimmer directly from rectified mains, and includes a high-voltage power switch and a circuit to allow direct start-up from the rectified mains voltage. The SSL2102 also includes high-voltage circuitry to supply the phase cut dimmer. It is part of a family of products that address a wide range of AC/DC LED drivers, including the latest generation SSL 2103.
