NXP to speak at RFID Europe 2010 (28 Sept)

RFID in Europe

Joining over 30 world-class speakers at this year's RFID Europe 2010 event (28-30 Sept, Cambridge, UK), Rolf Kodritsch, RFID marketing manager from NXP Austria, will discuss how RFID brings value into fashion retail, with a look at new ways to detect label tampering, combat counterfeiting, and increase consumer privacy.

RFID tags offer a number of benefits compared to traditional bar codes. With RFID tags, retailers can scan hundreds of labels quickly, so incoming goods inspection and inventory control is faster and more efficient. Security is higher, too, since the tag is extremely hard to duplicate and can be protected with a password. In the fashion retail industry, RFID tags help protect brands and retain consumer confidence, since they help verify that items come from reliable, authorized sources. They also make it harder for criminals to profit from the sale of counterfeit goods.

NXP's market-leading RFID chips offer innovative options for fashion retail. The UCODE portfolio of RFID tagging solutions delivers advanced RF performance, an innovative set of custom commands, and robust track-and-trace functions. In particular, the latest UHF UCODE G2iL and G2iL+ solutions enable leading-edge read ranges based on a simple, cost-effective single antenna solutions, and offer a variety of industry-first features for security.

RFID Europe is the only RFID event hosted by RFID analysts, so it provides impartial insight into RFID progress and opportunities. Organized by IDTechEx, the event includes program content carefully designed to provide unrivalled insight into the state of the industry. The NXP presentation will take place 28 September. Registration is available via the conference site.
