MediaTek chooses NXP BISS-Technology New integrated solution reduces footprint by 50%
MediaTek Inc. the leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions has added NXP to its approved vendor list: The use of a NXP low saturation voltage "BISS" transistor and a small-signal MOSFET for the battery charger unit of its mobile platform MT6236 has already been confirmed.
Additionally, a new solution by NXP integrating these two products in the leadless, ultra thin 2 x 2 mm SMD package SOT1118 is currently under test at MediaTek. This solution is reducing the footprint by more than 50% and at the same time lowering the package height from 1 down to 0.65 mm. A significant step towards miniaturization of the PCB.
