New common-mode filter for USB 2.0

NXP has released its first single-channel common-mode filter with integrated ESD protection up to 15 kV contact discharge in a 0.4 mm pitch wafer-level chip-size package (WLCSP6). IP3319CX6 protects sensitive I/Os as USB 2.0, digital video interface and low-voltage differential signalling interfaces from destruction by ESD. The device eliminates common-mode noise from high-speed interfaces with differential data and attenuates common-mode noise of 800 MHz. Differential-mode signal extends out to more than 1 GHz before reaching the -3 dB point. IP3319CX6 integrates two ultra-low capacitance rail-to-rail diodes plus a separate protection diode, which enables the protection to work independently from availability of a supply voltage.
