Call for Entries: NXP mbed Design Challenge 2010

Global design contest for innovative hardware- and software-based applications; Complimentary NXP LPC1768 kits available while supplies last

ESC Boston, September 21, 2010 - NXP Semiconductors N.V. (Nasdaq: NXPI) has officially kicked off the NXP mbed Design Challenge 2010, in collaboration with Circuit Cellar: The Magazine for Computer Applications and Elektor International Media.

Starting today, engineers from around the world are invited to use the mbed NXP LPC1768 prototyping board and mbed online "Cloud" compiler to develop an innovative hardware- or software-based application.

Facts / Highlights:

  • Deadline for design contest submissions: February 28, 2011
  • Cash prizes totaling US $10,000 will be awarded to design contest winners
  • Design entries should include detailed project descriptions, schematics, project photos and source code – and anything else required to demonstrate the true merit of the design
  • Anyone with an mbed NXP LPC1768 prototyping board can enter, and thousands of complimentary mbed NXP LPC1768 kits are being distributed by NXP and ARM/mbed while supplies last
  • The Circuit Cellar judging panel will evaluate the projects based on a variety of factors, including technical merit, originality, usefulness, cost-effectiveness and design optimization
  • Winning projects will be posted online. Most notable projects will be featured as full-length articles on Circuit Cellar and Elektor
