Abstract:
In this webinar you can learn about our ESD Protection and why this is a growing need for new designs even though many new interfaces are designed to avoid ESD strikes. We will also discuss a new parameter called "dynamical resistance", and why this is directly correlated to the clamping voltage and why it is a better indicator of the protection performance of a system - compared to the ESD robustness level of the protection diode. NXP offers new products which are optimized for ultra low clamping and capacitance. Finally, we want to introduce the newest leadless diode package (SOD882D) with a reduced height and innovative solderable and tin-plated side pad design.

Abstract:
System chips for the latest high-speed and super-speed interfaces need the most advanced IC processes, which are more sensitive against ESD strikes. NXP can offer the best in class product portfolio for multi-channel ESD protection solutions, which combine strong ESD protection for the system chip with an excellent RF performance.
For HDMI, an active product portfolio is available as well, which combines further functionality like level-shifting, buffering, long-cable-drive with strong ESD protection. This integration saves pick-and-place-costs and offers a reduction of the time to market together with reduced PCB board demand of the interface and stock risk together with robust ESD protection.

Abstract:
Voltage regulation is at the heart of every electronic system and understanding the balance of cost and performance is a key to ensuring a successful design. While many systems today use complex power management devices to take care of much of the task of providing stable DC voltage rails to various subsystems, it is not uncommon to also find individual regulators used for cost advantage or flexibility. This webinar will review the basic concept of voltage regulation, with a narrowing scope toward the use of linear regulators in various applications. It will include a review of how the different types of linear voltage regulators are constructed, and highlight some of these options within the NXP product portfolio. A brief summary of some of the key performance characteristics to consider will conclude the presentation.
In this webinar you will learn about:
- The basic principles of voltage regulation (system level overview)
- Types of linear regulators, including application examples
- How to build a basic discrete zener diode based linear regulator
- Fundamentals of a Shunt Regulator
- Fundamentals of a Low-Dropout Regulator
- Key performance characteristics
Who should attend?
- System Architects and Hardware Developers who work with Power Management schemes (Mobile, Computing, Industrial, etc.)
- Engineering Students

Abstract
For the newest design concept of portable devices, longer battery life and smaller PCB space are important. Small-signal MOSFETs are widely designed into portable devices for battery charging, battery protection, load switch, power switch, and backlighting application. By choosing the most suitable MOSFETs in each application the engineer will help improving efficiency, power dissipation and finally reducing PCB size.
NXP provides a complete small-signal MOSFET portfolio to support various portable applications and designs. Customer can achieve better efficiency and reduce PCB size.
