On 22 March, NXP was granted the “Best Partner” award by WPI. For the first time, this award was given to a Logic manufacturer. The award was handed over during a review meeting in which WPI celebrated its achieved number 1 positions in Asia thanks to NXP Logic. WPI’s position with NXP Logic was #3 in 2007 and grew steadily to become #1. Looking ahead in 2009, WPI and NXP are both looking forward to continuing the constructive business relationship. On March 12 2009, NXP received a “Green Light 2009” award for its MIFARE Ultralight C chip. The latest generation smart paper ticket IC was recognized in the contest of advanced designs in the area of public transport and recommended for Russia-wide usage in AFC applications.

The award has been issued by the association of governmental and public transport organizations and operators driving developments in public mass transit in Russia. The prize was presented to NXP at the first Russian specialized tradeshow of Products, Technologies and Services for public transport operators “Public Transport 2009”, which recently took place in Moscow. MIFARE Ultralight C was launched by NXP in the beginning of March.

On 16 January 2009, NXP received the 2008 outstanding supplier award from Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems, one of the top three auto parts suppliers in China. The ‘Best Cooperation Award‘ was granted to NXP for excellent service work. “Thanks to NXP's quick response and excellent service, we had a fruitful cooperation in the field of third party logistics program and sourcing channel consolidation for our sub plants. We are looking forward to more in-depth and value-added support from NXP in the coming year”, said Hanson Zhang, director of supply chain management.

China's Business Watch named NXP Semiconductors as one of the top ten fast reaction companies of 2008 out of the top fast 100 companies in China. This award is well-deserved due to a series of timely and effective counterstrategies adopted by NXP in the face of an industry revolution and a challenging economic environment. On November 19, NXP's Assembly Plant Bangkok received the Superior Partner Award from Samsung Electro-Mechanics Thailand. The award has been granted to NXP for “excellent quality performance, industrial capabilities and delivery lead time reduction”

NXP Semiconductors was awarded the "2008 most influential automotive semiconductor supplier award" from the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) Consulting, a leading consulting and research firm in China. CCID Consulting is directly affiliated to Ministry of Industry and Informatization & CCID Group, widely recognized as one of China's largest, most influential top-tier information and consulting service conglomerates, with strong influence in China's IT and electronic industry.

NXP's Assembly Plant Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has been honored with the Outstanding Enterprise Innovation Award by the Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs on October 3, 2008. From the severe competition with 83 leading companies, NXP has won the Award in the category of Electricity/Optoelectronics because of outstanding performance in process, product, organization, know-how and technology innovation. Maylin Lin, Senior Financial Director and representative of NXP Taiwan, was invited in an audience with the President, Ma Ying-jeou and praised by the Premier, Liu Chao-shiuan.

NXP's Business Line Sound Solutions has achieved another top recognition for its quality management: after the success in 2002 the Business Line has been awarded again with the Austrian Quality Award 2008 in the category of Business Lines and Subsidiary Companies. The reasoning of the jury: "NXP proves as an excellent company with distinctive leadership in a strong, persistent growth phase and shows strong global commitment. NXP makes systematically use of different tools in order to develop and improve continuously. The management is actively pushing the central themes "Passion for Quality" and "Obsession for Improvement", which are clearly visible and perceptible throughout the whole organization." The continuous improvement of all business processes will help NXP Semiconductors further to achieve its ambitious quality and business targets.

On 25 September, NXP was granted the "China Influenced Embedded System New Technology Award" by Electronic Engineering & Product World (EEPW). Ms. Jennifer Zhao, NXP's Marketing Director of Product Line Microcontrollers, received this honor on behalf of NXP at the ceremony. With winning this award the NXP LPC3200 MCU family was recognized in the Chinese market for its outstanding performance and power efficiency. Being nominated and selected by the engineering community and winning this year's EEPW Embedded System New Technology Award demonstrates and proves NXP's leadership in the 32-bit MCU realm.

The Business Line General Applications Discretes was recognized as best supplier for the year 2007 by World Peace Industrial (WPI). Important factors for the evaluation were the excellent support in business, technical and quality matters as well as NXP's logistic services and cost performance. WPI, member of the WPG, World Peace Group, is the Business Line's top distribution partner in Asia. NXP Semiconductors and WPI believe in strong future opportunities and joint growth.

EDN announced the winners of the 18th Annual Innovation Awards at a ceremony April 14, 2008, in San Jose, CA. And our LPC2478 won as Innovative Product of the Year for Microcontrollers and Cores! Our microcontroller beat out competition from Freescale, Infineon and MIPs as the most innovative product in the respective catagory for 2007. Being nominated as a finalist for the first time it makes us very proud that we could directly win this honorable award.

For a consecutive year, NXP was awarded “Top 10 Most Popular Semiconductors Brands in China” by China Electronic New (CEN). CEN is one of the most influential media in the electronics and semiconductor industry in China. During the award ceremony on 18 March, CEN highly praised NXP's achievements in business development, its total solution and comprehensive services to local customers as well as NXP's China localization strategy.

NXP was awarded the 'Electronics For You Readers Choice Award' for the Smart Card Chips category at the EFY awards ceremony held in New Delhi on the 15th of February. Selection of the nominees was carried out through a survey conducted by the India Marketing Research Bureau via the EFY (Electronics For You) website, with the assistance of prominent jury members representing both the government and industry. Electronics for You being one of the most widely read publications in the Indian electronics space; the award further validates NXP's position as a market leader in the ID domain.
