Strive for Excellence - NXP China received "Excellent Suppliers Award" from Lenovo Mobile
The continuous dedication and improvement of our customer services to Lenovo Mobile over the past years was fully recognized by Lenovo Mobile, awarding NXP with an "Excellent Suppliers Award" this year. Our Lenovo Mobile Account Manager, James Zhou, and Adrian Chu, VP - China Sales, were presented the award in Xiamen, the city for Lenovo Mobile's head office in China. This Award has been organized for a few years and this year is the first time that NXP won such award. The jury from Lenovo Mobile consisted of the Purchasing Department, the Quality Department and the R&D Department. A wide spectrum of criteria have been taken into consideration when making the selection, including technical support, pricing support, logistics services etc. One important factor is that Lenovo Mobile has strong confidence in future opportunities and business growth together with NXP. "There are hundreds of suppliers for Lenovo Mobile. We are very happy to be presented with this Excellent Suppliers Award and it recognized our excellent services, continuous improvement and strong commitment to Lenovo Mobile. This is a big encouragement to us and we will bring more value-add to Lenovo and work towards an even closer partnership in the future", said Adrian.
NXP wins SESAMES Award with best e-Transactions application innovation
At CarteS in Paris, France, NXP Semiconductors won the SESAMES award for the best e-Transactions application with the secure display card inlay. As a part of the CarteS exhibition & Congress, the SESAMES Awards are well known as the unchallenged innovation labels and global standards for card manufacturers and related industries.
Arrow/NXP ‘No Bottlenecks’ campaign wins NEDA Gold Award!
Arrow Electronics submitted entries into the recent National Electronic Distributors Association (NEDA) Channel Marketing Awards. The Arrow and NXP ‘No Bottlenecks’ campaign featuring NXP’s LPC2300/2400 microcontrollers won the Gold Award in the Integrated Marketing segment. Entries are judged by business-to-business marketing professionals and are based on criteria such as visual interest, proper audience targeting, and emphasis on the service provided. ‘No Bottlenecks’ is an integrated marketing campaign, in which direct marketing played a central role, that was developed by Arrow and NXP representatives from corporate communications, PL marketing, and sales. The campaign targeted over 10K design engineers and purchasers in order to generate awareness of NXP’s new LPC2300/2400 products and to increase design wins.

NXP wins IPRA Golden World Award for Excellence 2007
On November 6, NXP won the IPRA (International Public Relations Association) Golden World Award for Excellence 2007 in the prestigious category: "International Campaign" with the "NXP Revs Up the Semiconductor Industry" submission. The Golden World Awards for Excellence have established themselves as the true "Oscars" of the international public relations industry. To win an award a submission must demonstrate respect for the basic principles of a structured approach of public relations - involving research and measurement. A committee of 45 senior practitioners and academics judged the entries. NXP Semiconductors, represented by Freek van Vlerken, Global Communications Manager for Multimarket Semiconductors and Channel Management, received the award from Mr. Philip Sheppard, President of IPRA.

NXP wins vendor award Sharp Electronics
Sharp Electronic Components Group in Nishitanabe (Osaka, Japan), presented NXP with the Best Vendor Award during its annual Vendor Meeting on 19th October 2007. NXP Semiconductors, represented by Akihiro Nakamura, GKAM for Sharp, received the award from Mr. Miyoshi Yamauchi, Group GM of Electronic Components Group. NXP was named the Best Vendor for Sharp (Tuner Division) because of excellent Quality Assurance support, stable delivery and cost performance. NXP was the only semiconductors vendor who won the Award.

NXP receives 'Supplier Appreciation Award' from Solectron
On Monday 24th September NXP's CEO Frans van Houten was presented the 'Supplier Appreciation Award' by Solectron. Solectron wanted to recognize those Suppliers that stood out and distinguished themselves over the past year in terms of support with a 'Supplier Appreciation Award'. The criteria used by Solectron for a supplier to receive the award included: quality performance, on-time delivery performance, support of Solectron supply chain initiatives and finally overall business support on a global basis. NXP is one of a very limited number of suppliers selected to receive the Award. Solectron noted in the case of NXP, they were particularly impressed by the improving trend over the past 2-3 years.

Awards for NXP Kaohsiung, Taiwan
On August 30, 2007, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan held the Award for International Trade ceremony for top exporters/importers to reward their efforts during the previous year. NXP Kaohsiung, Taiwan, received two awards; for International Trade in special recognition of its outstanding business record in 2006 and the second for its brilliant export growth to Korea that ranked #1 in 2006.

NXP receives Card Technology Innovation Breakthrough Award for the industry-thinnest contactless MOB6 package
In the Innovation category, NXP’s MOB 6 contactless chip package, was recognized by Breakthrough Awards judges for its potential to offer more flexibility to issuers of electronic passports, e-visas and ID cards. In terms of smart card innovation, NXP Semiconductors has developed an ultra thin smart card IC that is finer than a human hair and designed to support enhanced security features and address durability requirements for the latest types of electronic identification documents such as ePassports, eVisas and other chip based identification solutions. This SmartMX chip with a thickness of 75 micrometers (0.000075 m) is only half as thick as the current industry standard for smart card ICs and is a crucial development step in addressing the design of ultra-thin electronic documents that meet security demands.
NXP receives National Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering
NXP has been presented with a National Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering for our "valuable contribution" to the Engineering Education Scheme England (EESE). For the seventh successive year, NXP UK has sponsored a team of students, this year a team from Totton College, to participate in the EESE. The EESE is a national scheme that links teams of four students and their teacher to local companies to work on scientific, engineering and technological problems.
NXP Taiwan awarded Best Supplier from Kinpo Group
Recently, NXP Semiconductors Taiwan received the Best Supplier Award from Kinpo Group, one of the largest electronics manufacturing group and the no.1 mobile phone Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) in Taiwan. NXP Taiwan successfully achieved the design-win project of our Sysol 5130 and the estimated shipment is 1 million sets.

NXP receives Arrow Supplier of the Year 2006 Award
On 16th March 2007 Arrow awarded NXP Semiconductors with the Arrow Supplier of the Year Award 2006.
This is the 3rd time in a row NXP receives this award. During the Arrow Asia Pacific 2006 Annual Dinner,
the award was presented by Mr. Bill Mitchell, Chairman, President & CEO of Arrow and presented to
Mr. Samuel Mang, Senior VP & Greater China Sales Manager, NXP Semiconductors.
NXP Semiconductors in Top 10 favorite semiconductor Brands in China
The China Electronics News and China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) Consulting Group presented the award to NXP Semiconductors at IC Market China, the annual gathering of the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA). The CSIA evaluated over 40 leading local and international semiconductor companies in this competition. They based their rankings on survey results from over 14,000 industry professionals of complete-system semiconductor manufacturers in China as well as documents submitted by the candidate companies. The selection criteria are based on: Brand Awareness, Sales, Products and Services and Localization.
NXP Awarded with ACE Award China: outstanding Services of the Year
During the International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China) 2007, NXP Semiconductors was awarded with the EE Times-China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Award for outstanding Services. This award is given to the company that offers the best customer experience in mainland China, exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism and efficiency in pre- and after-sales support. The decision of awarding was determined by a panel of independent judges.

NXP awarded: 2006 Hong Kong Awards For Industries
NXP Semiconductors Hong Kong has been awarded the 2006 Hong Kong Awards For Industries: Technological Achievement Award for its cutting-edge packaging technology in ultra-thin-leadless-platform (UTLP). The objective of the Technological Achievement Award is to recognize excellence in technology and intellectual property of companies as well as their contribution to Hong Kong. This is the second time NXP Hong Kong has been honored by Hong Kong Awards for Industries. The Quality Award was handed over in 1999.
