Actual temperatures depend on board layout, component mounting and environmental aspects (e.g casing, ambient, airflow). The temperatures indicated by the tool are based on simple linear models to give an indication of thermal performance.
Power dissipation calculations are given only for typical input voltages. Compliances
The generated schematics apply accepted industry practices for EMC design but are not guaranteed to conform to any compliance standard. Output power
In the design tool a fixed forward voltage is used, but in reality the forward voltage varies due to manufacturing spread and operating temperature. The user can adjust the forward voltage of the power supply in the design tool to better anticipate the actual performance. Transformer
The transformer calculations are based on simple models. For performance critical applications the design tool output can be used as a starting point for the more complex calculations required or for discussion with a credible transformer provider.
