Descriptive summary

NXP’s solutions for display & instrumentation encompass a wide range of dedicated LCD drivers and LED controllers for a variety of automotive applications. All our automotive LCD drivers are purpose-specific designed to drive displays in instrument clusters, car radios, climate control units, tachographs and even key fobs. The portfolio ranges from LCD segment drivers with a resolution of 4x32 up to LCD segment drivers with a resolution of 4x160 segments. Drivers are available either as cased types (in a package) for Surface Mount (SMT) application or alternatively as uncased types (die with gold bumps) for Chip On Glass (COG) application.

LCD Drivers and automotive LED Controllers

All our automotive LED controllers are dedicated to drive LEDs for display backlighting, tell-tale illumination or push button illumination in instrument clusters, car radios, climate control units and tachographs. The portfolio offers LED controllers with sixteen independent and one global PWM channel with either 8-bit or alternatively 12-bit resolution, and either fixed or adjustable PWM frequency. All our automotive LCD Drivers and automotive LED Controllers for display & instrumentation are qualified compliant to AEC-Q100 automotive qualification standard and offer highest reliability and robustness.
