Descriptive summary

Digital multiplexers allow a number of inputs to be independently switched to a single output. NXP's digital multiplexers are available in multiple logic famailies with one digital output connecting to one of 2, 4 or 8 input lines based on the digital code present at control inputs. Some multiplexers also offer complimentary outputs.

Multiplexers are used to simplify wiring in electrical systems of automotive applications such as power windows, power locks, power seat and power mirror control. In this way, most of the signals that leave the control panel on the driver's door are consolidated onto a two wire communication bus.

Digital multiplexers are available in standard SO, TSSOP and innovative leadeless DQFN pacakges for PCB space saving. NXP's automotive digital multiplexers are fully specified from - 40°C to 125°C, and are qualified per AEC Q 100 grade 1.
