TPMS chipset

NXP's P2SC signal conditioning IC family provides accurate direct tyre pressure measurement and incorporates our leading automotive RFID technology, enabling remote wireless communication with the sensors.

In line with new regulations, our TPMS solutions utilize superior direct measurement methods to ensure precise and reliable performance.

P2SC chips monitor each tyre directly from the moment the ignition is turned and relays information to the driver constantly, whether the vehicle is moving or stationary. By using a simple indicator on the vehicle's dashboard drivers can be alerted to potentially dangerous conditions, just as a low fuel light warns of a walk to the nearest garage.

PCH7970 - high performance signal processing and data framing

First member from the P2SC range is the single-chip PCH7970, a low power RISC-based device capable of reading two multiplexed sensors using an in-built high precision 12-bit ADC. Operating from an independent single-cell battery, the PCH7970 also features several I/Os, programmable memories and a power-down mode to minimize quiescent current.

Key features

  • Two high precision sensor inputs with programmable gain
  • Smart power management with wake-up on demand via port or 3D-LF interface
  • 128 bytes EEPROM; 128 bytes RAM; 4 Kbytes E-ROM; 4 Kbytes ROM
  • 32-bit unique ID
  • Digital sensor signal processing
  • On-chip temperature sensor and shutdown

Key benefits

  • Highly integrated single-ship solution
  • Flexible system development
  • Reduced time-to-market and development cost
  • Software upgradeable
  • Single receiver for both remote keyless entry and tyre pressure monitoring
  • Long product / battery lifetime
