Our ESD protection arrays are designed to protect up to 18 transmission or data lines from spikes of more than 30 kV. They deliver effective ESD protection in applications where board space is limited, such as cell phones, handheld consumer electronics and notebook computers.
Take our new low-capacitance, 4-fold ESD protection array
PESD5V0V4UW for
example. Housed in the ultra-small SOD665 surface mount package, it measures just 1.6 x 0.85 x 0.55 mm. It has a
line capacitance of only 12 pF. So it's perfect for protecting high-speed data interfaces like cell phone SIM
cards and multimedia cards.

Elsewhere in the range, our new 4-fold
PESDxS4UD and 5-fold
PESDxS5UD
series are ideal for protecting data interfaces in computing and automotive
applications. They both have very high peak power capabilities of 200 W, in accordance with the IEC61000-4-5
standard.
Handling data rates up to 480 Mbit/s, USB2.0 interfaces require ESD protection devices with an extremely low line
capacitance in order to avoid signal distortion. Our
PRTR5V0U2X, PRTR5V0U2AX
and PRTR5V0U4D have capacitances below 2 pF. They also deliver IEC 61000-4-2, level 4 compliant ESD protection.
These devices integrate ultra-low capacitance rail-to-rail ESD protection diodes with an additional ESD protection
diode connected between ground and VCC to prevent charging of the supply. As a result, no additional capacitors
are required to achieve maximum ESD protection. Supplied in the small SOT143 package, the
PRTR5V0U2X and PRTR5V0U2AX are designed to protect one USB 2.0 port. The PRTR5V0U4D in SOT457 (SC-74) can
protect two USB2.0 ports.
