Product Discontinuation Notice Number DN-51A

March 12, 2004

Attention: Purchasing Manager or Philips Semiconductors' Products Manager
Subject: Philips Caen Fire Special Product Discontinuation Notice Number DN-51A (Addendum)

Dear Philips Semiconductors Customer or Distributor:

On February 20, 2004, Philips Semiconductors issued a Special Product Discontinuation Notice Number DN-51 that identified the list of Philips Semiconductors' part types that could no longer be manufactured and supplied by Philips Semiconductors due to a fire that occurred on December 12, 2003 in Philips' Caen, France wafer manufacturing facility. This DN-51 notice included a list of 359 Caen plant discontinued part types ("Exhibit A"), as well as a listing of products that had previously been discontinued by Philips on various active DN notices that now may no longer have a full last time buy opportunity due to the Caen fire circumstances ("Exhibit B").

Since February 20, 2004, Philips Semiconductors has identified a list of 34 additional part types that were affected due to the Caen fire circumstances and did not appear on Philips Semiconductors' original DN-51 notice. Therefore, Philips Semiconductors is now issuing this DN-51 Addendum Dated March 12, 2004 (DN-51A) to our February 20, 2004 Product Discontinuation Notice Number DN-51 to officially notify your company of these additional 34 Philips Semiconductors' discontinued part types, as well as supplying your company updated information concerning previously discontinued part types that were being manufactured in Philips Semiconductors' Caen plant.

Attached to this DN-51A letter you will find:

A. EXHIBIT A-1

This Exhibit A-1 lists the 34 new discontinued part types that DID NOT APPEAR ON PHILIPS SEMICONDUCTORS' FEBRUARY 20, 2004 DN-51 NOTICE. This listing covers the additional discontinued part types only. Refer to the Philips Semiconductors' original DN-51 notice dated February 20, 2004 for the original list of the other 359 Caen fire discontinued products. A full copy of this original DN-51 notice can be obtained at Philips Semiconductors' official discontinued products internet website located at http://www.nxp.com/eol.

B. EXHIBIT B-1

The attached information, format and coding structure applies to Exhibit A and to this DN-51 notice. This format is designed for data sorting of key information and coding fields as described below:

1. Philips has previously discontinued certain products manufactured by our Caen plant on prior discontinued products notices ("DNs") before DN-51. The last time ordering availability for these previously discontinued products that are still active may have been affected due to the Caen fire where product inventories are limited or do not now exist.

2. Exhibit B-1 to this DN-51A notice contains the consolidated list of previously discontinued products that may now be affected by the Caen fire. This listing is in 2 sections.

(a) The first section of Exhibit B-1 contains the list of additional previously discontinued Philips' part types that were NOT ON THE FEBRUARY 20, 2004 Exhibit B listing.

(b) The second section includes the full list of the previously discontinued Philips' part types that DID APPEAR ON THE FEBRUARY 20, 2004 Exhibit B to DN-51 with some updated part type comments. The original version of Exhibit B to DN-51 may also be viewed as well at Philips Semiconductors' official discontinued products internet website. http://www.nxp.com/eol.

This notice hereby supersedes the last time ordering and supply conditions for those affected previously discontinued products on such prior Philips DN notices. It is important that your company contact its local Philips Semiconductors' sales and marketing representatives as soon as possible to verify the current availability status of any of these previously discontinued part types listed on Exhibit B-1.

As previously noted in the original DN-51 notice, some of the affected Caen plant manufactured part types are internally dual sourced and can still be manufactured by Philips in its' other wafer fabrication plants. These part types are NOT being discontinued by, and listed on, this DN-51 notice (including this DN-51A Addendum). Please contact your local Philips account or sales manager for additional information on the internally dual sourced Philips' Caen part types, or known alternate industry sources of supply.

For certain discontinued linear products, Philips is actively engaged in negotiating a third party transfer agreement. Philips will issue a separate CPCN notice with full product transfer details once this third party agreement is closed.

C. LAST TIME BUY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Product Coding and last time buy terms and conditions of sale for available Philips Semiconductors' discontinued products listed in this DN-51A Addendum shall remain the same as original coding and last time buy terms and conditions set forth in Philips Semiconductors February 20, 2004 DN-51 notice. These DN-51 notice terms, conditions and other coding information is hereby merged into, and made part of, this DN-51A Addendum in their entirety by this reference.

Philips Semiconductors is not printing all of these DN-51 terms and conditions and coding information in this DN-51A Addendum. Instead, your company may obtain this DN-51 information by also accessing Philips Semiconductors' official discontinued products internet website. http://www.nxp.com/eol
