HITAG 2 stick transponder

Datasheet (68Kb)

HITAG™ Transponder ICs operate at a frequency range of 100 to 150kHz and offer the advantage of being robust in harsh environments (e.g. metal or moisture within the antenna field). This ensures safe data transmission, unaffected by electronic interference.

The HITAG 1 IC has a very sophisticated anticollision feature that allows the simultaneous operation of several tags in the reader field. The extremely low power EEPROM design allows read and write at the same long operating distances. HITAG 2 ICs feature a multimode capability which allows operation with different readers and baud rates, and which supports various protocols, allowing use in a variety of applications.

Following the worldwide demand for data and transaction security, almost all HITAG ICs implement a highly sophisticated proprietary encryption algorithm. When operated in the security mode, HITAG tags initiate a process of mutual authentication. This ensures that data is secure and only accessible to authorized personnel. Additional measures, such as cyclic redundancy checks and parity checks ensure a very high degree of data integrity, making HITAG an extremely reliable system.

The latest addition to NXP established HITAG family is the revolutionary HITAG S IC Family. Targeted at the high volume livestock tracking and food safety market, it features an innovative ultra low power design specifically designed to provide for the longer reading ranges required in this application area.
