The first true 16-bit smart card IC, SmartXA easily meets the needs of today's markets and opens the path to future, more complex applications. Ideal for applications demanding the highest performance and security in mobile communications, e-Business and banking.
The 2nd generation SmartXA provides the highest performance required for the new generations
of SIM cards and UICCs, demanding flexibility and performance for interoperable open system implementations. With
high levels of security and support for public key cryptography, it is also suitable for banking, pay-TV, e-Business
and government applications. Its USB interface enables secure access into networks through your PC. SmartXA 2nd
generation fully meets the high security, performance and memory needs of multi-application, multi-provider cards.
NXP Semiconductors' SmartXA 2nd generation products combine a variety of features enabling customers to invest in applications for the present and the future. A hardware firewall guarantees the integrity of applications and data, while embedded triple-DES coprocessors, random number generators and NXP's 32-bit FameX crypto coprocessor are available to support symmetric and public key cryptography (PKC). Additionally, a USB interface enables direct connection to the PC and a special power control mode delivers maximum computing performance with minimal power consumption, especially for GSM applications.
The SmartXAccelerator, the latest enhancement to the SmartXA 2nd generation architecture, boosts Java execution speed to enable flexible, high-performance implementations of open operating systems.
