ZigBee networks can participate in the "Internet of Things" (IoT), allowing the network nodes to be remotely monitored and controlled from devices on the Internet, such as smartphones, tablets and laptops. In addition, communications from battery-less devices are possible with ZigBee Green Power, which can be deployed in energy-harvesting units such as switches, dimmers and environmental sensors.
NXP offers a strong portfolio of ZigBee wireless network solutions comprising ZigBee Compliant Platforms based on low-power wireless microcontrollers with comprehensive support software for developing ZigBee applications. These include solutions designed around the latest ZigBee 3.0 standard.
Customers can employ our platforms to develop ZigBee Certified Products that use public device types and clusters that have been defined by the ZigBee Alliance to standardize the way products from different manufacturers communicate. NXP's own NFC technology can be employed for the easy commissioning of devices into ZigBee networks, facilitating more user-friendly consumer products.
NXP has been a promoter of the ZigBee Alliance since its formation. We actively contribute to specification development and participate in test events, often resulting in Golden Unit classification, ensuring solutions are robust and interoperable.
