The LV family was introduced to provide the performance of 5 V HCMOS at 3 V. Most parts, however, now operate up to 5.5 V and offer twice the speed and twice the output current of 5 V HCMOS. The LV Family includes functions such as analog switches with very low on-resistance, and typical operating ranges of 1.0 V to 5.5 V. In total, sixty three part types are currently offered, making this the broadest low-voltage family on the market. One unique part in this family is our battery management IC which operates from 0.9 V to 6.0 V, and handles 1 to 4 NiCd or NiMH rechargeable batteries (74LV4799).
