Bi-directional level translating transceivers with auto direction sensing

NT level translators are dual supply transceivers that can automatically sense the direction of data transmission, removing the need for a controller to set the data direction. They include push-pull (NTB) and open-drain (NTS) output variants.

Features and benefits

  • Dual supply for 1.2 V to 5.5 V translation
  • Over-voltage tolerant inputs to 5.5 V
  • Open-drain option (NTS)
  • Auto direction-sense
  • 3-state (OE) and power-down IOFF circuitry
  • ESD protection to 15,000 V HBM (NTB)
  • Wide temperature range (-40 °C to +125 °C)

Applications

  • I²C
  • Smart Phone
  • LCD TV
  • STB

Technical summary

NT level translators are dual supply transceivers that can automatically sense the direction of data transmission. They include push-pull (NTB) and open-drain (NTS) output variants. They are available in 1‑, 2‑, and 4‑bit configurations. NTS allows interfaces between 1.65 V and 5.5 V systems, NTB between 1.2 V and 5.5 V systems.

NT products are available in standard PicoGate and innovative leadless DQFN, WLCSP and MicroPak packages for PCB space saving. NXP’s NT level translator products are fully specified from -40 °C to 125 °C.
