Nexperia home entertainment engines handle all key source decoding and media processing functions in TV-centric products such as analog, digital and hybrid TV sets and receivers, connected digital TVs, home multimedia servers, and home entertainment centers.

PNX5000

The Nexperia PNX5000 bundles high-performance scaling software with motion compensated de-interlacing and an extensive range of advanced features to deliver world-class picture quality on mid-range and high-end LCD flat-panel TVs. The PNX5000 works seamlessly with the NXP UOCIII analog TV signal processor to provide a complete LCD TV system solution. A complete LCD TV reference design and a software development kit are available to support development of new PNX5000-based systems.

PNX8550

The Nexperia PNX8550 Home Entertainment Engine is targeted for mid- to high-end analog/digital TVs and server products. It provides built-in LCD support and advanced features such as 100-Hz progressive scan, decoding, and display of one HD or two SD streams simultaneously, robust picture enhancement algorithms, and scaling.

Based on the PNX8550, the Nexperia TV810 reference design offers a standardized hardware platform for building high-end analog/digital televisions supporting NTSC and ATSC standards (SD and HD resolutions), as well as state-of-the-art picture improvement processing.

The flexible Nexperia STB810 System Solution enables rapid system development of advanced IP and dual-functionality (IP and broadcast) set-top boxes. It leverages the power and flexibility of the PNX8550 home entertainment engine and the latest AV codecs, including H.264 and WMV9, to support advanced features such as video telephony, picture improvements, time-shift recording, DVD playback, storage, personal video recording, network connectivity, and even voice over IP.

Nexperia Home partner, Digital Deck, is using Nexperia processors to offer an exciting new approach to home entertainment. The Digital Deck Entertainment Network gives consumers home-wide control and access to TV, movies, music, photos, and more from any TV or CE device (DVD player, VCR, satellite or cable box) -- no matter where it's located. The system combines Digital Deck software with hardware (media server/DVR and receiver/routing/client) components based on the PNX8550 home entertainment engine.

The NH-8550 SDK, a software development kit for creating PNX8550-based applications, includes the PNX8550 application programmer interface (API) and is available through the Nexperia Home Partner Program. By removing the complexity of programming media processing and the underlying A/V tasks, the PNX8550's API dramatically reduces the time and complexity associated with developing connected applications for PNX8550 appliances.

PNX8526

The Nexperia PNX8526 Home Entertainment Engine is a highly-programmable media processor capable of processing dual SD DVB or DSS transport streams and supporting new TV-based user services such as web browsing, video e-mail, voice and video IP telephony, and personal video recording/time-shifting.

Based on the PNX8526, the complete, ready-to-use IBO2525-x Reference Design combines DVB source decoding and support for MHP or MHEG applications and core functions needed for advanced digital broadcast applications.

Nexperia PNX8510/11 analog back end companion chips provide dual-channel worldwide analog TV video encoding and audio conversion for ICs such as the PNX8526 in applications such as STBs and TV sets.

PNX831x

The Nexperia PNX831x Home Entertainment Engines offer solutions for low cost, feature-rich digital STBs and analog/digital TV systems as well as mid-range STBs for free-to-air or pay television reception. The Nexperia DE200/50 iDTV reference design gives manufacturers a low-cost, low-risk way to create analog/digital TV DVB-T receivers by adding DVB capabilities to existing low- to mid-range analog TV set designs. Based on the PNX8310 and the world-class TDA10046 COFDM receiver, the DTT STB System Solution is a complete production-ready reference design for creating DVB-T STBs for the low cost free-to-air market. For the low-end cable market, the PNX831x-based Nexperia Cable STB system solution offers a highly affordable and extremely efficient solution for a variety of digital STB and TV applications.
