DC motors
Robust and easy-to-use, power MOSFETs have largely replaced bipolar transistors in circuits that control the speed and direction of low-voltage brushed and brushless DC motors. NXP offers a wide range of products that are ideal for these applications, providing a choice of package (TO220 or D2-PAK) and voltage levels.
Thanks to our expertise in Trench technology, all these devices boast extremely low on-state resistance. This improves the efficiency of the entire system, reducing the need for bulky heatsinking and extending battery lifetimes. And the power MOSFET's 'built in' body diode eliminates the need for external parallel diodes in bridge configurations, helping reduce system costs.
