NXP’s growing family of BGA7xxx medium power MMICs is ideal for all wireless communication applications. The ICs are tunable between class A and AB, support power-line network operation, and work from either mains or battery power. This makes them perfect for all eMetering solutions including gas meters, where a power connection can be problematic.
Breakthrough process
Manufactured in NXP’s breakthrough QUBiC4 process, the BGA7xxx devices deliver a comparable level of RF performance to their GaAs equivalents, but at a lower cost and with additional features such as ESD robustness.
Basestations
The MMICs’ high power level makes them an excellent choice for mobile-infrastructure applications. They offer the highest gain over all basestation frequencies, while the quiescent-current feature ensures high efficiency and linearity in Class-AB operation. The MMICs can be tuned for any band between VHF and 2.7 GHz. Unbeatable thermal performance (30 °C/W) improves overall quality and reliability.
Saving implementation costs
Our MMICs can also save implementation costs as they offer single supply operation with integrated features such as built in temperature compensated bias and enable/shut down circuitry.
eMetering
Our medium power MMICs are also very well suited to eMetering applications in the 900-2400 MHz ISM band. High integration and single-supply operation mean you can create a full-featured solution with just a few other components. The built-in reliability and quality of a silicon-based process provides longevity, as does the improved ESD performance.
