Christos Lagomichos is Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Home business unit within NXP, the independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. In this role, Christos is a member of the NXP executive management team reporting to Frans van Houten. Christos is ultimately responsible for leading a business unit that creates system solutions and AV components for digital consumer electronics applications, including TV, set-top boxes, PC TV and security technology.
Christos joined NXP in 2007 from STMicroelectronics, where he held the role of Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Home Entertainment & Displays Group. Responsible for designing, developing and marketing products and system solutions for digital consumer applications such as set-top boxes, DVD recorders, digital TV and home audio, Christos’ leadership saw ST expand its number-one position in the overall digital set-top box market.
Christos started his career as a Design Engineer with Siemens Neuperlach in 1983 – a role he held until 1985, when he joined STMicroelectronics. Initially working as an engineer, Christos became a manager of ST’s Munich Design Centre for digital applications in 1988, before a series of promotions saw him take on senior management roles in Italy, the United States and then Switzerland. In 2004, he was made Group Vice President, General Manager of ST’s Home Entertainment Group, before being appointed to the position of Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Home Entertainment & Displays Group in January of 2007.
Christos speaks four languages and has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. Married with two children, he lives in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
