Chairman of Management Board
Rick Clemmer is President and Chief Executive Officer and also holds the position of Chairman of the Management Board at NXP Semiconductors. On an interim basis, Rick will assume responsibility for the Automotive business within NXP.
As Chief Executive Officer, Rick uses his extensive executive leadership experience in the semiconductor industry to drive the future of the company and strengthen its leadership position. Throughout his career, he has worked with industry-leading global semiconductor, storage, e-commerce, and software companies helping to create long term profitability and growth. Rick firmly supports NXP's focus on innovative solutions for worldwide customers. His expertise utilises strategic structuring to create growth, capital fund-raising, investor relations, international operations and Board of Director oversight.
Prior to joining NXP, Rick drove the turnaround and re-emergence of Agere Systems, the Lucent spin-out and a leader in semiconductors for storage, wireless data, and public and enterprise networks. He also served as Chairman of u-Nav Microelectronics, a leading GPS technology provider, and held a five-year tenure at Quantum Corporation where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Quantum, Clemmer worked for Texas Instruments as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Rick holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He also serves on the boards of NCR Corporation and i2 Technologies, Inc.
