NXP’s programmable alternator regulator provides a complete system-on-die solution to manage electrical parameters of an alternator with rotor excitation current up to 8A in both gas and diesel engine vehicles.
This application specific standard product (ASSP) provides a high degree of programmability. Users can control and diagnose the alternator by using a standard, robust LIN 1.3 protocol. It also offers a Load Response Control (LRC), a thermal compensation combined with thermal protection and a self-start operation (in case of LIN disconnection).
