The Bluetooth® Low Energy heart rate monitor reference design demonstrates the implementation of a wireless electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition system. It features the NXP KW40 system on chip (SoC) which includes an Arm® CortexTM M0+ processor together with a 2.4 GHz radio for Bluetooth Low Energy and 802.15.4.
The TWR-S08JE128-KIT is a low-cost development tool for the MC9S08JE low power USB microcontroller. This kit is part of the Freescale Tower System, a modular, reconfigurable development platform that allows designers to get to market faster with packaged evaluation boards, tools and runtime software.
The increased use of electronic devices in the medical domain has created a need for the development of a common protocol for data interchange between various devices. This problem is addressed by the IEEE-11073 Part 20601 (Optimized Exchange) specification. The Freescale Medical Connectivity Library is based on this specification and follows the Continua Health Alliance design guidelines for implementation.
