NXP single-chip solution for global digital radio standards improves Panasonic’s system cost and simplifies development processes
|
TOKYO,
NXP’s SAF360x software-defined radio has enabled Panasonic to market the world’s first global infotainment platform that receives and processes the full range of digital radio broadcasting standards. NXP’s multi-standard hardware platform eliminates the need for its customers to spend valuable resources to develop distinct radio architectures for DAB in Europe, HD Radio in the US, T-DMB in Korea, or DRM in India. NXP’s solution is the industry benchmark for highest integration level and smallest footprint – combining dual channel processing with on-chip dual DAB front-end, memory and source decoding. According to Panasonic, this contributed to 66 percent system cost reduction and 30 percent improvement of the development process.
“We are extremely proud that we have contributed to Panasonic’s mission to improve people’s lives and to grow its car infotainment business,” stated Rick Clemmer, CEO of NXP Semiconductors. “The award from this highly respected global electronics specialist proves our focus on trusted customer partnerships and shows that we deliver on our brand promise to supply secure connections for a smarter world.”
