NXP Releases Industry’s First ZigBee 3.0 Software SDK

NXP Semiconductor today released theindustry's first software SDK for ZigBee 3.0. The NXP ZigBee 3.0 software isavailable for JN5169, JN5168 and JN5164 microcontrollers. With the ZigBee 3.0SDK, home automation developers and operators can further explore new product developmentfor Smart Home, Smart Appliances in domestic and commercial environmentsincluding lighting, HVAC and security devices.

The JN516x ZigBee 3.0 SDK must beinstalled on top of the BeyondStudio for NXP toolchain (JN-SW-4141).Installation instructions are provided in the BeyondStudio for NXP Installationand User Guide (JN-UG-3098). Application Notes are also available that provideZigBee 3.0 demonstration applications that can be run on the components of the JN516x-E004 Evaluation Kit and used as a starting point forcustom application development. EK004 also supports NFC commissioning, as withNXP's earlier ZigBee solutions.

ZigBee 3.0 helps facilitate a simpleend-user experience with set-up and operation.
