Our material suppliers play an important role in achieving NXP Zero Defect quality expectations.
The supplier quality team at NXP® is comprised of Supplier Development Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers. This global team partners with the NXP Global Procurement team to drive our Suppliers to proactively work towards the NXP quality expectations and requirements. Suppliers are urged to make systematic and on-going improvements to their products and processes through rigorous monitoring of material conformance to specifications or control-limits through the Certificates of Analysis Supplier Quality Management (eCofA SQM) system, regular Manufacturing Process & Quality Systems Audits, Quality reviews with Supplier Management, Supplier Development & Quality improvement programs. The result of these is the robust raw material needed to manufacture products with consistent performance.
We use a Supply Quality Management (SQM) tool with a 'ship-to (receipt-to) control' module to help monitor & manage material incoming quality. Suppliers are required to submit their Certificates of Analysis (CofA) to the SQM electronically. If a material batch is detected to be outside of the pre-determined specifications or control limits, it is automatically rejected.
As we strive for zero defects we rely on a model of 'predict, prevent, protect'. This model gives us a proactive problem-solving approach to our supplier quality development and management.
