Xiaomi 15S Pro Integrates NXP UWB for Transit and Car Access
NXP Semiconductors announced today that its Trimension SR200 ultra-wideband
(UWB) technology powers the new Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone, enabling seamless
hands-free transit and digital car access in a single device. Leveraging
NXP’s Trimension SR150 UWB chips, Shenzhen Tong—the provider of automatic fare collection systems to Shenzhen
Transit— offers transit access that allows Xiaomi 15S Pro users to ride the
BYD Skyline without any interaction with the transit gates. Featuring
NXP’s Trimension NCJ29D5 chips, the Xiaomi 15S Pro also supports smart car access for the Xiaomi YU7
electric vehicle (EV) .

Expanding the UWB Ecosystem Across Mobile, Automotive and Transit
The UWB ecosystem has grown rapidly, with deployments across a variety of
endpoints, ranging from many of the largest global smartphone manufacturers to
automakers, and in new applications like mass transit. By incorporating UWB
capabilities with the
Trimension family of devices, the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone connects its users to this broad UWB
ecosystem to provide additional services, allowing a single device to
seamlessly serve multiple functions, from car key to transit ticket.
As the only UWB provider with commercial deployments in mobile, automotive
and mass transit, NXP has helped to pioneer the use of UWB technology to
deliver innovative new use cases to consumers.
Launching hands-free transit with one of China’s leading smartphone
manufacturers is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to deliver
on the promise of UWB. These exciting new use cases and the seamless
experience they enable will help this ecosystem continue to grow.

More Details
The Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone leverages the Trimension SR200, which delivers
highly precise data for location, distance, angle-of-arrival and velocity to
detect precise locations. Additionally, the Trimension SR150—installed in
transit gates for Shenzhen Tong—delivers secure ranging and data transfer to
precisely identify the user’s location, even in crowded environments, allowing
users to seamlessly enter the Shenzhen Tong mass transit system.

Similarly, the Xiaomi YU7 EV is equipped with the Trimension NCJ29D5,
delivering smart car access and allowing users to access their car hands-free
through a digital key on a UWB-enabled smartphone—including the Xiaomi 15S
Pro. Vehicle owners can easily share digital keys through smartphone apps to
grant access to family, friends or service personnel. The Trimension NCJ29D5
and Trimension SR200 are compliant with the Car Connectivity Consortium’s (CCC's)
Digital Key standard.
The Trimension portfolio—including the Trimension SR200, Trimension SR150 and
Trimension NCJ29D5—are Fine Ranging Alliance (FiRa) certified to ensure interoperability and
security.
Trimension: A Multi-Protocol System Approach
