With IP cameras, security needs to take center stage when it comes to protecting data and people’s privacy. IP cameras are typically equipped with a high degree of functionality and frequently installed in unsupervised locations, making them some of the most vulnerable devices in the IoT.
In this session, you’ll learn how adding a silicon-based root of trust, in the form of a secure element, will enhance the IP camera’s security by providing the right tools to perform credential management, image encryption and attestation, secure connections to servers and clouds.
At the time of the webinar, FIPS 140-2 was the latest applicable standard. Since then, FIPS 140-3 has been published, making 140-2 increasingly outdated. In April 2024, NXP introduced the EdgeLock SE052F, the first hardware IoT Secure Element certified to FIPS 140-3 Level 3. All topics covered in the webinar remain relevant to this new device. For details on using EdgeLock SE052F for FIPS-secure, FIPS-compliant Matter IP cameras, visit the product page.
