    DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

          It is a notification that Freescale is going to qualify a
          subcontractor Nantong Fujitsu Microelectronics Co. Ltd. (NFME)
          located in Jiangsu, China as an additional assembly and test site
          for 32 SDIP package devices. NFME is a QS-9000 qualified company.
         
          In assembly aspect, matte pure tin plating process will also be
          qualified at the same time to offer customers the lead-free
          solution. With this additional capacity, Freescale will be able to
          provide better product delivery for affected customers.
         
          Target qualification will be completed in Q1 2005. Product
          Notification will be issued to notify customers about the qual
          results and implementation schedule upon the qualification
          completed.
         
         
         

    QUALIFICATION PLAN

          Owing to the new assembly site qualification, 3 lots qual approached
          will be adopted. Below showed the reliability stresses
          requirement:

          For test correlation requirement, a correlation study will be
          conducted with 3 lots of size about 1K pcs each between HKG and
          NFME. 100% bin to bin correlation will be required to fulfill the
          correlation requirement.
