    DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

          Freescale is pleased to announce completion of a full automotive MC
          qualification of the 0.25um Split Gate Flash (SGF) technology in
          the MOS13 wafer fabrication facility located in Austin Texas, USA.
          This successful site qualification is part of Freescales continuous
          improvement strategy to support the growing customer demand for this
          technology and is testimony to Freescales ongoing commitment to
          investing in new technologies and manufacturing capabilities
          ensuring production of semiconductors to the highest standard of
          quality and reliability for our customers.
         
          The default position of Freescale will be that volume production on
          all affected devices will transfer to MOS13.
         
          Freescale will work with our customers to transition to MOS13 in
          order to ensure maximum benefit from the security of supply and
          increased flexibility that additional fab provides.
         
         
          This announcement is for the qualification of product families
          below:
         
          9S12A128, 9S12B128, 9S12B256, 9S12A256, 9S12Dx128, 9S12Dx256

    QUALIFICATION PLAN

          Marlin2 and Barracuda4 devices were used as qualification vehicles
          for the 0.25 micron process in MOS13. AEC qualifications were
          achieved at the end of March 2005.

    CHANGED PART IDENTIFICATION

          Standard part numbers, for each device family, will not change. All
          material ordered under the standard part number could be
          transferred to this new site. New custom SC numbers, unique to this
          new site, will be issued. The default position of Freescale will be
          that volume production on all affected devices will transfer to
          MOS13.
          Product marking on the MOS13 devices will change with MOS13 mask set
          marked on devices.
