DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE

Freescale is announcing the last buy date for lead die bump with lead free spheres for the 8641/8640 product family. These devices will be replaced with drop in replacement devices that have lead free die bump with lead free spheres. These new lead free devices are compliant with European Union RoHS standards.

Freescale will continue to manufacture leaded die bump and leaded sphere devices for those customers that have RoHS exemptions as long as there is sufficient demand and business conditions permit.

REASON FOR CHANGE

For supply assurance and to meet RoHS standards where Freescale will ship the 8641/8640 family of products with no exemptions.

ANTICIPATED IMPACT OF PRODUCT CHANGE(FORM, FIT, FUNCTION, OR RELIABILITY)

There will be no change to fit, function, or reliability. Form will change as we are moving from lead die bump to lead free die bump.
