  • DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE

    Freescale Semiconductor announces the addition of Copper (Cu) wire as a wirebond material and modified package case outline for the QFN devices associated with this notification. These products are currently under qualification at Freescale Tianjin Final Manufacturing site (TJNFM), Tianjin, China. These products were previously assembled with Gold (Au) wire and standard lead (S-type) or exposed lead (E-type) leadframe per product attributes table below, at the Freescale TJNFM site.

    The change of package case outline is required to standardize all E-type leadframes for TJN QFN packages to align with current production QFN leadframe design.

    REASON FOR CHANGE

    The transfer from Gold to Copper wire and S-type to E-type leadframe is required to mitigate against raw material cost increases and for supply assurance.



    ANTICIPATED IMPACT OF PRODUCT CHANGE(FORM, FIT, FUNCTION, OR RELIABILITY)

    Change to form with slight package case outline modification. No Impact to fit or function. Reliability is equivalent or improved.
