Motorola and the customer may negotiate an appropriate End-of-Life DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE ----------------------- Dear Customer: Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector is currently going through a re-alignment of our manufacturing resources. The wafer fabrication facility in Austin, MOS-8 125mm wafer production operation, is now scheduled to be closed at the end of August, 1999. Some of the products currently built in that facility will transfer to production in other Motorola facilities or to subcontractor fabs. Unfortunately, some of the older technologies are not conducive to transferring. Regretfully, we will have to cease production of these products. Because of the timing of the scheduled shutdown, we apologize, but we will not be able to offer the usual notice period for end-of-life buys that we have typically been able to provide. On or before the last buy day date shown, customers will be able to place end-of-life purchase orders for these products. Because of this factory shutdown, Motorola can not accept orders placed after the last buy date for these end-of-life products. Contact your Motorola sales representative to answer any questions you may have regarding the discontinuance of these products. Where possible, our sales representative may be able to assist you in locating replacement parts either from alternate Motorola or from external sources, if any exist.
